Yaroshevsky, Bohdan
Yaroshevsky, Bohdan [Ярошевський, Богдан; Jaroševs'kyj; pseudonym: Stepan Zahorodny], b December 1869, d 30 November 1914. Ukrainian political activist and writer. Descended from Polonized Ukrainian nobility, he joined the Ukrainian national movement but maintained close ties with Polish socialist circles. He was the leader of the Ukrainian Socialist party, which attracted Ukrainianized Poles, and editor of its periodical Dobra novyna. His political articles appeared in Przegląd krajowy, Przedświt, Naprzód, and Krytyka, and his poems and short stories, in Rada (Kyiv), Hromads’ka dumka, Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk, and the monthly Nova hromada.
