Yarosevych, Roman
Yarosevych, Roman [Яросевич, Роман; Jarosevyč], b 19 May 1862 in Moskalivka near Kosiv, Stanislaviv circle, Galicia, d 28 May 1934 in Stanyslaviv, Galicia. Physician and political activist. After graduating in philology from Lviv University he taught at a gymnasium in Kolomyia. He then studied medicine in Cracow, and, finally, opened an office in Borshchiv. A member of the Ukrainian Radical party and then the Ukrainian Social Democratic party, he was elected in 1897 to the Austrian Reichsrat. In 1908 he chaired the clandestine committee which organized Myroslav Sichynsky’s escape from prison. In the 1920s he was elected president of the Alliance of Railway Physicians of the Stanyslaviv Directorate of Polish State Railways.
