Ukrainian Learned Educational Society
Ukrainian Learned Educational Society (Українське науково освітнє товариство; Ukrainske naukove osvitnie tovarystvo, or УНОТ; UNOT). An association in Belgium for promoting Ukrainian education and scholarship. It was founded in Brussels in 1947 as a section of the Ukrainian Relief Committee in Belgium and in 1950 was reorganized into an independent organization. Its activities included the operation of Ukrainian Saturday schools and the publication of scholarly works in Ukrainian and French. Its presidents were Rev Maksym Hermaniuk, Petro Zeleny, Dmytro Andriievsky, I. Vytiaz, Rev B. Kurylas, and Rev I. Kit (after 1978).
