Torban
Torban. A music society founded in Lviv in 1869 by Anatol Vakhnianyn. The group was dedicated to the advancement of music education and sensibility among the general population. It established a school of music in Lviv and sponsored concerts throughout Galicia. Prominent members included the singers Oleksander Myshuha and Yuliian Zakrzhevsky. Lacking finances and a facility of its own, the society dissolved in 1871.
