Stakhovsky, Lev

Stakhovsky, Lev [Стаховський, Лев; Staxovs'kyj], b 1911 in Vinnytsia, Podilia gubernia, d 1968 in Caracas, Venezuela. Otolaryngologist and community leader; full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society from 1955; son of Mykola Stakhovsky. A graduate of Prague University, he practiced medicine in Czechoslovakia and emigrated in 1947 to Venezuela. He was the founder and first president of the Ukrainian Hromada in Venezuela. His professional publications included scientific articles on tuberculosis of the larynx.
