Sheparovych, Ivan
Sheparovych, Ivan [Шепарович, Іван; Šeparovyč], b 1889 in Kolodiivka, Stanyslaviv county, Galicia, d 3 December 1969 in New York. Co-operative movement and civic leader; brother of Yuliian Sheparovych. In the 1920s he organized and headed the Stanyslaviv branch of Silskyi Hospodar. Then he served on the society’s board of directors in Lviv and represented the society in the [Lviv] Agricultural Chamber, over which he presided in 1941–4. After emigrating to the United States of America he organized Ukrainian co-operatives and engaged in émigré political activity. From its inception he presided over the Ukrainian Economic Advisory Association (1957–63). As the US president of the Ukrainian National Democratic Alliance he was a key member of the émigré Ukrainian National Council.
