Savytsky, Kostiantyn
Savytsky, Kostiantyn [Савицький, Костянтин; Savyc'kyj, Kostjantyn], b 1 June 1901 in Pishchanka, Olhopil county, Podilia gubernia, d 1981. Agronomist and doctor of agricultural sciences (1965). He graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Organization at the Kyiv Polytechnical Institute (1929) and worked as an experimental researcher at the farm-machinery standardization bureau of the Kyiv Institute of Machine Science, and then headed the Groznyi base of the All-Union Institute of Grain Production. From 1935 to 1967 he was a senior research associate of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Land Cultivation. His most important works concern the technology of buckwheat growing.
