Rudnytsky-Liubienitsky, Sylvestr
Rudnytsky-Liubienitsky, Sylvestr [Рудницький-Любенецький, Сильвестр; Rudnyc'kyj-Ljubjenic'kyj], b ca 1712 in Volhynia, d 7 May 1777 in Lutsk. Uniate bishop. He studied at the Basilian school in Volodymyr-Volynskyi, after which he entered the Basilian monastic order and served as hegumen of the Lavriv Saint Onuphrius's Monastery. He was then consecrated, as the successor to his older brother, Teodosii Rudnytsky-Liubienitsky, as bishop of Lutsk-Ostroh (1751–78). During his tenure he sought to increase discipline and educational standards in Lutsk eparchy. From 1772 he headed the Basilian chapter in Berestia.
