Romzha, Teodor Yurii
Romzha, Teodor Yurii [Ромжа, Теодор Юрій; Romža, Teodor Jurij], b 14 April 1911 in Velykyi Bychkiv, Transcarpathia, d 1 November 1947 in Mukachevo, Transcarpathia oblast. Greek Catholic bishop. He studied philosophy and theology in Rome at the Collegium Russicum, and was ordained in 1936. He served as a parish priest in Berezove, Transcarpathia, and as a priest and professor of philosophy at the theological seminary in Uzhhorod (from 1939). In 1944 he was consecrated as an assistant bishop to Bishop M. Dudash and administrator of Mukachevo eparchy. He was assassinated when he opposed the liquidation of his eparchy and refused to co-operate with the Soviet authorities.
