Poletyka, Mykhailo
Poletyka, Mykhailo [Полетика, Михайло], b 28 September 1768, d 17 December 1824 in Saint Petersburg. Philosopher; son of Ivan Poletyka and brother of Petro Poletyka. A graduate of the First Cadet Corps, he served as secretary to Empress Maria Fedorovna. After retiring from service in 1807, he wrote Essais philosophiques sur l’homme, ses principaux rapports et sa destinée, fondés sur l’expérience et la raison, suivis d’observations sur le beau, which was published anonymously in Halle (1818) and again in Saint Petersburg (1822).
