Poletyka, Andrii
Poletyka, Andrii [Полетика, Андрій], b ca 1739–41?, d ca 1798. Civic figure; brother of Hryhorii A. Poletyka and Ivan Poletyka. In 1758 he became a chancellor in the Hetman state’s General Military Chancellery. He was appointed a notable military fellow in 1763 and a fellow of the standard in 1767. Later, as marshal of the nobility in Romny county (1784, 1797–8) and of all Chernihiv gubernia (1785–8), he was an advocate of granting imperial noble status and privileges to the largest number of Cossack starshyna. From 1787 he had the rank of court counsel in the Russian imperial civil service. Poletyka’s diary of Catherine II’s visit to Kyiv in 1787 was published in Pamiatnaia knizhka Kievskoi gubernii na 1858 g. (Memorial Book of Kyiv Gubernia for 1858).
