Peter II
Peter II (Russian: Petr Alekseevich), b 23 October 1715 in Saint Petersburg, d 29 January 1730 in Moscow. (Portrait: Peter II.) Russian emperor in 1727–30; grandson of Peter I and son of Tsarevich Aleksei, who was executed on his father's order. During the first year of his reign the de facto ruler was Prince Aleksandr Menshikov.
