Pakul, Mykola

Pakul, Mykola [Пакуль, Микола; Pakul'], b 28 February 1880 in Minsk gubernia in Belarus, d 27 May 1953 in Kharkiv. Soviet Ukrainian historian. He graduated from Kharkiv University (1910) and then taught medieval history and chaired the history faculty there from 1920. He researched the origins of feudalism and wrote Niderlandskaia revoliutsiia (The Netherlands Revolution, 1929) and Lektsii po istorii srednikh vekov (Lectures in the History of the Middle Ages, 2 vols, 1939).
