Luzhnytsky, Leonid

Luzhnytsky, Leonid [Лужницький, Леонід; Lužnyc'kyj], b 25 April 1869 in Sorotsko, Terebovlia county, Galicia, d 16 October 1951 in Hecksternüst, West Germany. Ukrainian Catholic priest, theologian, and pedagogue; founding member of the Ukrainian Theological Scholarly Society. He taught catechism at the Academic Gymnasium of Lviv (1894–1929) and church history at the Greek Catholic Theological Seminary in Lviv and the Greek Catholic Theological Academy. He wrote several textbooks on dogma, liturgics, ethics, and the history of Ukrainian church.
