Laskarev, Vladimir
Laskarev, Vladimir [Ласкарев, Владимир], b 9 July 1868 in Biriuchi, Voronezh gubernia, Russia, d 10 April 1954 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Russian geologist. After graduating from Odesa University in 1892, he taught there until 1920. He subsequently emigrated and was appointed a professor at Belgrade University. In 1901–7 he conducted geological research in Podilia and Volhynia, and in 1915 he published his major work, on the structure of river valleys in Ukraine. He also wrote many geological studies of the Balkan countries.
