Lahodynsky, Mykola
Lahodynsky, Mykola [Лагодинський, Микола; Lahodyns'kyj], b 21 October 1866 in Dobrovody, Zbarazh county, Galicia, d 12 May 1919 in Deliatyn, Kolomyia county, Galicia. Lawyer and civic and political leader in Galicia. After opening a law office in Deliatyn (near Kolomyia) in 1900, he organized the Ruska Kasa credit union and branches of the Prosvita society, Silskyi Hospodar, and Ruska Besida (see Ukrainska Besida) in the town. He was also a member of the supreme committee of the Sich society. An effective regional organizer for the Ukrainian Radical party, he was elected to its chief executive committee and, during the First World War, to its presidency. He was elected twice (1907 and 1911) to the Austrian Reichsrat in Vienna, where he served as deputy leader of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Club. He was also a deputy to the Galician Diet from 1913, as well as a member of the General Ukrainian Council and the Ukrainian National Rada.
