Kyrychenko, Stepan [Кириченко, Степан; Kyryčenko], b 9 April 1911 in Chopovychi, Radomyshl county, Kyiv gubernia, d 30 April 1988 in Kyiv. Monumentalist painter and mosaicist. A graduate of the Kyiv State Art Institute (1949), where he studied with Fedir Krychevsky, Sofiia Nalepinska, and Mykola Rokytsky, he prefered to do mosaics and often collaborated with N. Klein. He took part in painting the main pavilion and the Ukrainian pavilion at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR in Moscow in 1955. With N. Klein he made mosaics such as The Harvest (1957), Our Duma, Our Song (1960), A Hutsul Melody (1963), Shevchenko (a triptych by N. Klein, and S. and R. Kyrychenko, 1964), and Ukraine (1969). An album of Kyrychenko and Klein’s works was published in 1970.
