Kryzhytsky, Kostiantyn
Kryzhytsky, Kostiantyn [Крижицький, Костянтин; Kryžyc’kyj, Kostjantyn], b 29 May 1858 in Kyiv, d 17 April 1911 in Saint Petersburg. Landscapist; from 1900 full member of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts. After attending the Kyiv Drawing School, he completed his studies under M. Klodt at the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts (1877–85). His landscapes and genre scenes, done in a realist style, include Oaks (1907), Mowers in Ukraine (1884), Boat on the River Bank (1898), Winter Evening in Kyiv (1905), Forest Lake, Winter Landscape, A Farmstead in Ukraine, Village, A Market, Grain Harvesting, and In a Parlor.
