Koropchevsky, Pavlo
Koropchevsky, Pavlo [Коропчевський, Павло; Koropčevs'kyj], b 1741, d 16 March 1808 in Banychi, Hlukhiv county, Chernihiv gubernia. Cossack officer. He studied at the Kyivan Mohyla Academy before becoming chancellor of Myrhorod regiment and then general chancellor (1761–8). In 1768 he was arrested for his involvement in the rebellion of the lancer regiments, but was soon released. From 1769 to 1774 Koropchevsky was registrar of the Little Russian Collegium. In the 1780s and 1790s he was a prominent official in Novhorod-Siverskyi vicegerency and then vice-governor of Little Russia gubernia (1797–9). Koropchevsky was also a member of the Novhorod-Siverskyi patriotic circle.
