Kanadyiets’
Kanadyiets’ («Канадиєць»; The Canadian). Religious newspaper published semimonthly from January 1912 to June 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta. It was edited by M. Belegai and subsidized by the Methodist church. The paper contained expositions of the Bible, articles on the history of Protestantism, attacks on the Catholic church, and practical information for farmers. It paid little attention to developments in Ukraine or in Ukrainian-Canadian communities and, therefore, found few readers. In 1920 it was merged with the Presbyterian paper Ranok (Winnipeg) to form Kanadiis’kyi ranok.
