Hurevych, Zinovii

Hurevych, Zinovii [Гуревич, Зіновій; Hurevyč, Zinovij], b 14 September 1898 in Hlukhiv, Chernihiv gubernia, d 16 September 1985 in Kharkiv. Specialist in social hygiene. A graduate of the Kharkiv Medical Institute (1924), he also taught there. He wrote over 100 works, among them Koronarna khvoroba (Coronary Disease, 1963), and coauthored several pioneering studies of sexual behavior, the most significant being Stateve zhyttia selianky (The Sexual Life of the Peasant Woman, 1931, with A. Vorozhbyt), Problemy statevoho zhyttia (Problems of Sexual Life, 1930, with F. Grosser), and Suchasne stateve zhyttia (Contemporary Sexual Life, 1928, with F. Grosser), the German translation of which was reprinted in Zeitschrift für Sexualwissenschaft, vol 15, no. 8, 1929.
