General treasurer

General treasurer (heneralnyi pidskarbii). Title of a senior officer in the Hetman state, who became a member of the General Officer Staff in 1728. His primary responsibility was to supervise government finances and to collect revenues through taxes, rents, and licenses. He also fulfilled other tasks assigned to him by the hetman.
