Dzhankoi

Dzhankoi [Джанкой; Džankoj]. Map: VIII-15. City (2013 pop 36,086) in the northeastern Crimea, railway junction; a raion center in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The city has a large food industry, with plants specializing in fruit canning, winemaking, dairy products, and meat packing. It also has railroad shops, as well as machine building and machine-repair plants. Dzhankoi was founded in the second half of the 19th century.
