Dendrological park. A large park in which many species of local flora—trees and shrubs—are grown. Such parks serve as both research centers and tourist attractions. In Ukraine the major dendrological parks are Trostianets Dendrological Park (established 1834, now in Chernihiv oblast), Sofiivka Park (in Uman, 1796), Oleksandriia Dendrological Park (in Bila Tserkva, 1793), and Veseli Bokovenky (1893, now in Kirovohrad oblast).
