Borkovsky, Oleksander
Borkovsky, Oleksander [Borkovs'kyj], b 29 March 1843 in Zahutyn, Sianik county, Galicia, d 5 October 1921 in Vankovychi, Rudky county, Galicia. One of the pioneers of the Galician renaissance. Borkovsky was a journalist, teacher, editor of Zoria (Lviv) (1886–97), and Dilo, and a cofounder of the Prosvita societies.
