Zalozetsky-Sas, Vasyl
Zalozetsky-Sas, Vasyl [Залозецький-Сас, Василь; Zalozec'kyj-Sas, Vasyl'; pseudonym: Панько из Галичанова; Panko iz Halychanova], b 7 February 1833 in Pohorilivka, Bukovyna, d 2 February 1915 in Hirne, Stryi county, Galicia. Greek Catholic priest and writer in Galicia; father of Roman Zalozetsky-Sas, grandfather of Volodymyr R. Zalozetsky-Sas. He contributed poems and historical stories to Russophile periodicals, such as Slovo (Lviv), Halychanyn (1867–70), Halytskaia Rus’, Rodimyi listok, and Prolom. An edition of his complete works (3 vols, 1907–9) was published in Lviv.
