Voloshyn, Mykhailo [Волошин, Михайло; Vološyn, Myxajlo], b 5 May 1878 in Roliv, Drohobych county, Galicia, d 29 July 1943 in Lviv. Lawyer. An activist of the Sokil society, he was a member of the society’s central branch (Sokil-Batko). Voloshyn was an officer of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. During the revolutionary period he was a member of the Military Directorate (Boiova Uprava) of the Western Ukrainian National Republic. In the 1930s he was a member of the Lviv Chamber of Advocates, and he acted for the defense in many political trials defending Ukrainian political prisoners. He served on the Central Committee of the Ukrainian National Democratic Alliance (1925–39) and on the boards of several Ukrainian co-operatives. For many years he conducted the Boian chorus in Lviv. During the German occupation he presided over the Lviv Chamber of Advocates.
