Union of Ukrainian Professional Musicians

Union of Ukrainian Professional Musicians (Союз українських професійних музик; Soiuz ukrainskykh profesiinykh muzyk, or СУПРОМ; SUPROM). A music society active in Lviv in 1934–9. The union was active in the fields of composition, musicology, and musical performance. It sponsored the periodical Ukraïns’ka muzyka, selected the items to be included in the collection Velykyi spivanyk Chervonoï kalyny (The Great Songbook of Chervona Kalyna), published Dyrygents’kyi poradnyk (The Conductor's Adviser), and organized a competition for young performers. Among the leading figures in the union were Nestor Nyzhankivsky, Vasyl Barvinsky, Zinovii Lysko, Roman Savytsky, and Wasyl Wytwycky.
