Tereblia River
Tereblia River [Tereblja]. (Map: Tereblia River.) A right-bank tributary of the Tysa River that flows for 91 km through Transcarpathia oblast and drains a basin area of 750 sq km. With its source at Synevyr Lake, the river is fed by streams from the southern slopes of the Gorgany Mountains. It is notable for its deep valley (up to 350 m). A section of the river is dammed and some of its water diverted, by means of a 3.6-km tunnel (built in 1949), into the adjacent Rika River through the Tereblia-Rika Hydroelectric Station.
