Shukhevych, Hermina
Shukhevych, Hermina [Шухевич, Герміна; Šuxevyč; née Любович; Liubovych], b 1852 in Peremyshl, d 1939 in Lviv. Women's movement leader and civic activist; wife of Volodymyr Shukhevych; mother of Dariia Starosolska. She was a founder of a number of women’s organizations in Lviv: the Club of Ruthenian Women (which she also headed), the Trud women’s co-operative, and the Ukrainska Zakhoronka society. She also served as director of the Saint Olha Institute for Girls. She helped her husband organize the ethnographic march to the Vysokyi Zamok in 1887 and the Ukrainian ethnographic section at the Lviv Exhibition of 1894.
