Seim region
Seim region [Посем’я; Posemia]. A historical-geographic region along the upper Seim River contested by the Chernihiv principality and Pereiaslav principality. It included such settlements as Kursk, Rylsk, and Putyvl. Its proximity to the steppe left it open to frequent attacks by nomads. Ultimately the Chernihiv principality won control over the region.
