Ruthenian Agrarian party

Ruthenian Agrarian party (Ruska khliborobska partiia). A small Ukrainophile populist political party in Czechoslovak-ruled Transcarpathia, founded in August 1920 in Uzhhorod by Rev Avhustyn Voloshyn, Rev. Viktor Zheltvai, Mykhailo Brashchaiko, Yulii Brashchaiko, Avhustyn Shtefan, and A. Tovt (the party chairman). In its organ Rus’ka nyva (1920–4) it promoted pan-Ukrainian unification, political autonomy for the Ukrainians of Transcarpathia and the Prešov region, and official use of the Transcarpathian dialect. In 1924 the party was succeeded by the Christian People's party.
