Nova hromada, journal

Nova hromada, journal («Нова громада»; New Community). A journal published by the All-Ukrainian Association of Consumer Co-operative Organizations and Knyhospilka publishing house in Kyiv and Kharkiv from 1922 to 1933. Originally called Biuleten’ Kyïvs’koï filiï Vukoopspilky (1922) and Pravoberezhnyi kooperator (1922–3), in 1932 it was renamed Sotsialistychna hromada. The journal was aimed primarily at a peasant readership and contained articles on the co-operative movement and scientific, literary, and cultural topics, and prose and poetry. It was edited by Oleksii Kobets and N. Rudenko, and among its contributors were the prominent writers Borys Antonenko-Davydovych, Mykola Zerov, Maksym Rylsky, Stepan Vasylchenko, Ostap Vyshnia, Pavlo Tychyna, and Hryhorii Kosynka. The journal appeared 8 times in 1922, 16 times in 1923, 21 times in 1924, 24 times per year from 1925 to 1932, and once in January 1933.
