Nemyriv fortified settlement
Nemyriv fortified settlement. An early Scythian (7th–6th century BC) fortified settlement on both banks of a tributary of the Boh River near Sazhky, Nemyriv raion, Vinnytsia oblast. Excavations from 1909 to 1948 identified the remains of defensive earthen walls and trenches. It was found that the inhabitants lived in large (up to 6 m in diameter) pit dwellings, clay ovens, earthenware, and bronze arrowheads were among the artifacts recovered at the site.
