Mykolaiv Art Museum
Mykolaiv Art Museum [Миколаївський обласний художній музей ім. В. В. Верещаґіна; Mykolaivskyi oblasnyi khudozhnii muzei im. V.V. Vereshchagina]. An art museum established in Mykolaiv in 1914. Its collection contains over 6,000 works by Ukrainian, Russian, and Western European artists, among them Ivan Aivazovsky, V. Vereshchagin, Vasilii Tropinin, Volodymyr Borovykovsky, Kostiantyn Trutovsky, Rufin Sudkovsky, Karl Briullov, Leonid Pozen, Arkhyp Kuindzhi, Mykola Yaroshenko, Kyriak Kostandi, Z. Serebriakova, Oleksander Murashko, Serhii Vasylkivsky, Petro Nilus, Yevhen Bukovetsky, Matvei Manizer, Andrii Kotska, Volodymyr Mykyta, and Tetiana Yablonska. Branches of the museum are located in Voznesensk and Ochakiv. Since 1986 the museum has been housed in a new building with 10 exhibition halls. A guide to it was published in 1986.
