Miller, Vsevolod [Міллер, Всеволод], b 19 April 1848 in Moscow, d 18 November 1913 in Saint Petersburg. Russian folklorist, linguist, and archeologist; member of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences from 1911. In his works on the Tale of Ihor's Campaign (1877), Bylyny (1893), and the legend of Illia Muromets (1894) and in Ocherki russkoi narodnoi slovesnosti (Outlines of Russian Folk Literature, 3 vols, 1897, 1910, 1924) he dealt with Ukrainian literature and folklore. His work had a notable influence on other Ukrainian folklorists, such as Ivan Franko and Ahatanhel Krymsky.
