Mickiewicz, Mieczysław

Mickiewicz, Mieczysław, b 26 February 1879 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Podilia gubernia, d ? (before July 1939). Polish political leader. He practiced law in Kyiv. Under the Central Rada he served as undersecretary of Polish affairs in the General Secretariat of the Central Rada (1917) and, from 25 January to 28 April, as minister of Polish affairs of the Ukrainian National Republic in Volodymyr Vynnychenko’s cabinet. In interwar Poland Mickiewicz held a post of voivode of Volhynia (see Volhynia voivodeship) in 1922–3.
