Lisnytsky, Hryhorii

Lisnytsky, Hryhorii [Лісницький, Григорій; Lisnyc'kyj, Hryhorij], b ? in the Kyiv region, d 1664. Nobleman and Cossack colonel. He was sent by Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky to the Siversk region (1648), and later he served as colonel of Myrhorod regiment (1652–8, with interruptions) and general judge (1657, 1661–2). He was sent as an envoy to Moscow in 1658 and to Poland in 1659. In 1655 he led a Cossack army that routed the Poles in the Battle of Horodok. An opponent of Muscovy, he took part in the preparation of the Treaty of Hadiach and the Treaty of Slobodyshche. A member of the Lviv Dormition Brotherhood from 1662, he was killed by the Poles.
