Kryzhanovsky, Navkratii
Kryzhanovsky, Navkratii [Крижановський, Навкратій; Kryžanovs'kyj, Navkratij], b 22 May 1876 in Verkhobuzh, Zolochiv county, Galicia, d 10 April 1940 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. Missionary priest. He entered the Basilian monastic order in 1896 and was ordained in 1903, a few months before coming to Canada. Until 1910 he ministered to Ukrainian Catholics in Winnipeg and its environs, and he then established a mission in Mundare, Alberta. In 1923 he built a monastery there and directed the Basilian Mission in Canada. In 1932 Kryzhanovsky became the first protohegumen of the new American-Canadian Province of the Basilian monastic order.
