Kollard, Yurii [Коллард, Юрій],b 2 January 1875 in Morachiv, Poltava gubernia, d 3 January 1951 in Augsburg, Germany. Civil engineer; civic and political leader. He was a founding member of the Revolutionary Ukrainian party. In 1917–19 he belonged to the Ukrainian Party of Socialists-Independentists. Under the Central Rada he served as commissar of railways in Polisia, under the Hetman government as senior inspector of railways, and under the Directory of the Ukrainian National Republic as deputy minister of transport. After the First World War he lived in Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Germany. His memoirs, ‘Spohady iunats'kykh dniv’ (Recollections of Days of Youth), were serialized in Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk (1928–31) and were reprinted in book form in 1972.
