Koliukh, Dmytro

Koliukh, Dmytro [Коліух, Дмитро; Koliux], b ca 1882 in Rossosh, Ostrogozhsk county, Voronezh gubernia, d ca 1937. Civic and co-operative leader. An organizer of Ukrainian consumer co-operatives, he took part in the Second All-Russian Co-operative Congress in Kyiv (1913), where he made the proposal to set up a central Ukrainian co-operative union. In the summer of 1917 he served in the municipal government of Kyiv. From 1917 to 1920 Koliukh was the executive president of Dniprosoiuz, and at the same time minister of food supplies in Vsevolod Holubovych’s cabinet (1918; see Council of National Ministers of the Ukrainian National Republic). In 1920 he was appointed vice-president of Vukoopspilka (the All-Ukrainian Association of Consumer Co-operative Organizations). In about 1930 he was arrested and deported to Central Asia, where he died.
