Kinburn Spit
Kinburn Spit. Map VII-12. A sand spit, 40 km long and 8–10 km wide, lying between the Dnipro-Boh Estuary and Yahorlyk Bay. The spit is dotted by 400 small, shallow fresh- and salt-water lakes. Its sand dunes are covered with steppe vegetation, while its marshy depressions are forested, partly with northern species. A part of the spit belongs to the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve.
