Khudorba, Arkhyp

Khudorba, Arkhyp [Худорба, Архип; Xudorba, Arxyp], b ca 1750 in Koman, near Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region, d early 19th century. Cossack officer, historian, and member of the Novhorod-Siverskyi patriotic circle. He was appointed osaul (1769), otaman (1773), and captain of Sheptaky company of the Starodub regiment, fellow of the standard (1783), and second major (1785) and first major (1790) of the Starodub Carabineer Regiment. He is the author of a lost history of ‘Little Russia,’ which was inspired by a liberal, anti-Russian spirit and, according to Oleksander Ohloblyn, was an important source for Istoriia Rusov.
