Ihnatovych, Volodymyr

Ihnatovych, Volodymyr [Ігнатович, Володимир; Ihnatovyč], 1883–1928. Ukrainian cultural and political figure of the early 20th century. A member of the Hromada of Kyiv, from 1914 to 1915 he headed the Committee for the Relief of the Population of Southern Russia Suffering from Military Actions. In December 1917 he helped found the Ukrainian Federative Democratic party, which advocated an autonomous Ukraine within a federated Russian state. Under the Hetman government he was director of the Ukrainian State Bank, and sat on the financial commission of the Ukrainian delegation that negotiated peace with Soviet Russia. In November 1918 he concluded an agreement with the Kuban government on financial transactions.
