Hryhorii, Deacon
Hryhorii, Deacon [Hryhorij], b and d ? Deacon, scribe, and illuminator of the 11th century. He copied and probably illuminated the Ostromir Gospel (1056–7), the oldest known manuscript produced in Kyivan Rus’. Some scholars contend that he lived and worked in Kyiv, not Novgorod the Great.
