Havryshchuk, Mykola
Havryshchuk, Mykola [Havryščuk], 1878–1942. Bukovynian primary school teacher, pedagogue, political activist. He was one of the leaders of the Ukrainian Social Democratic party in Bukovyna and a deputy to the Bukovynian Diet (1911–18). From 1920 he worked in Transcarpathia. He wrote textbooks on methodology such as Metodyka pochatkovoï nauky v narodnii shkoli (Methods of Elementary Teaching in Public School, 1913) and translated a number of German pedagogical books.
