Dzyndra, Yevhen
Dzyndra, Yevhen [Дзиндра, Євген], b 12 August 1913 in Demnia, Lviv county, Galicia, d 2 September 1983 in Lviv. Sculptor; the brother of Mykhailo Dzyndra. Dzyndra graduated from the Lviv School of Applied and Decorative Art in 1938. He worked mostly in stone. Among his works are the following: a bust of Ilarion Svientsitsky (1939) and his grave monument in Lviv (1960); busts of Ludwig van Beethoven (1955), Mykola Leontovych (1959), Yevhen T. Kozak (1962), Ivan Trush (1964), Hryhorii Tiutiunnyk (1965), and Vasyl Yeroshenko (1969); the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Mukachevo (1954); the monument to the victims of fascism in Volodymyr (in Volhynia) (together with Teodosiia Bryzh, 1966); and the compositions Girl with a Book (1942) and Shevchenko in Exile (1964).
