Dubliansky, Anatolii

Dubliansky, Anatolii [Дублянський, Анатолій; Dubljans'kyj, Anatolij], b 11 November 1912 in Peretoky, Lutsk county, Volhynia, d 28 October 1997 in Neu-Ulm, Germany. Church leader, journalist. Dubliansky edited Ukraïns’kyi holos (Lutsk) (1942–4) in Lutsk and then emigrated to Germany. In 1951 he was ordained in the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox church (UAOC) and in 1956 became a member of its metropolitanate council. He headed the higher church administration of the UAOC in Europe and became bishop of London and Western Europe in 1981 and archbishop of Paris in 1983. In 1994 he became metropolitan of Paris and Western Europe. In 1952 Dubliansky founded the quarterly Ridna tserkva, which he edited. He wrote Ukraïns'ki sviati (Ukrainian Saints, 1962), Ternystym shliakhom: Zhyttia Mytropolyta Nikanora Abramovycha (Along the Thorny Path: The Life of Metropolitan Nykanor Abramovych, 1962), and other works.
