Cabinet of Anthropology and Ethnology
Cabinet of Anthropology and Ethnology (Кабінет антропології та етнології ім. Ф. Вовка; Kabinet antropolohii ta etnolohii im. F. Vovka). A scientific institution of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences which functioned in 1921–34 under the direction of Fedir Vovk’s former student Anatolii Nosiv. In 1926 the cabinet’s department of anthropology was reorganized into a separate Cabinet of Anthropology, which conducted research mostly in Right-Bank Ukraine and the Crimea and analyzed the prehistoric materials that had been collected by Vovk in Mizyn (at the Mizyn archeological site). The cabinet published Biuleten' (1 vol, 1925), four annual collections of Antropolohiia (1927–30), and other works. See also Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology.
