Barvinsky, Bohdan [Барвінський, Богдан; Barvins'kyj], b 15 July 1880 in Ternopil, d 8 February 1958 in Lviv. Historian, full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, and expert on libraries and archives; son of Oleksander Barvinsky and brother of Vasyl Barvinsky. Among his works are Istorychni prychynky: Rozvidky, zamitky i materiialy do istoriï Ukraïny-Rusy (Historical Contributions: Studies, Comments and Materials on the History of Ukraine-Rus’, 2 vols, 1908–9), Istorychnyi rozvii imeny ukraïns'ko-rus'koho narodu (The Historical Development of the Name of the Ukrainian-Ruthenian People, 1909), Kraiovyi arkhiv aktiv grods'kykh i zems'kykh u L'vovi (Provincial Archive of City and Land Acts in Lviv, 1917), and studies on the history of Galicia-Volhynia and the Lithuanian-Ruthenian state, such as Zygimont Keistutovych, velykyi kniaz' lytovs'ko-rus'kyi (1432–1440) (Žygimantas Kestutaitis, Lithuanian-Ruthenian Grand Duke, 1905), and a 165-page article on the history of the Konashevych family in Zapysky Naukovoho tovarystva im. Shevchenka, 100 (1930).
